A Rhyming Dictionary Zella, Betsy Bobbin and White Pearl

I love this unique name for Indie nail polish: A Rhyming Dictionary! Can you imagine how utterly fun that would be? These polishes were stunning and I loved trying her beauties. I’m definitely adding a few of these to my wishlist.

Let’s start with White Pearl (I know, I know, out of order, according to the title). White Pearl, as described my A Rhyming Dictionary, herself, “The white pearl provides it’s owner with excellent advice.” This polish has a light blue opaque base filled with quirky and fun glitters. Definitely unique, and provides all people with the white-base glitters a run for their money. It’s quite the trend these days to have light opaque or jelly bases filled with glitters, and this one is definitely one to look out for! Pretty, pretty! 2 – 3 coats shown below!

Betsy Bobbin kind of, sort of reminded me of the watermelon in a nail polish bottle trend. I really LOVE it. Here’s how it was described, and I love how it has a little anecdote attached. I LOVE stories and unique names!!

“Betsy is a year older than Dorothy and from Oklahoma. She and her mule Hank get washed up after a storm where they end up in a place called the Rose Kingdom. The only human is the Royal Gardener; every one else is a face on a rose bush. He says that they are trespassing and will be put to death immediately but just at that instant the Shaggy Man falls through the roof eating an apple.”

This was layered over Barielle Peach Popsicle. Only did 1 coat and it was terrific!! 🙂

Zella was MY favorite of the 3. I love lime greens and matte glitters, and this is a stunner! (It’s ALMOST a dupe to Nail-venturous Humble Bee, even though I don’t have it… YET!) I layered this over Barielle Mint Ice Cream Cone, and it looks delectable! The story on Zella is:

“Zella – The daughter of Nikobob, Zella is wearing the shoes with the pearls inside when she delivers honey to Queen Cor on Coregos, Inga recognizes the shoes, and he offers his new shoes to Zella in exchange for his old ones.”

Such gorgeous beauties and amazing back-stories! You must check her out because I’m a sucker for glitters and these are definitely SUPER fun! 🙂

Sephora by OPI I’m So Sari

Being Indian, the Indian Summer Collection by Sephora by OPI (what a mouthful that all was, SARI) really, really appealed to me. This one, especially: I’m So Sari. If you’ve seen my wedding pictures or know my favorite color: TEAL (by the way, have way too many of these now. EEKS), you know I was going to get this unique one. It looks a lot like OPI Austin-tatious Turquoise except it has cute, little iridescent glitters spread out looking much like a sari! It actually looked A LOT like my wedding dress!

Yep, *SIGH* what a gorgeous dress it is! 🙂 Let’s get to the gorgeous polish, now! I’m So Sari is a beautiful metallic teal with iridescent glitters (very tiny but sweet) spread about. The formula was excellent! It did a great job at coverage in 1 coat, and I used a 2nd coat for opacity. Not bad considering OPI Austin-tatious takes about 4 coats and looks just about the same. So, I would pick this one (even though it’s a little spendy compared to OPI) because this one is just pretty and easier to apply! Also, I used two coats of base coat, and I noticed NO staining! Hallelujiah! Austin-tatious really stains me, and I really love it, so this is definitely my new go-to! Yippee! The brush is extremely wide, and I had to be careful applying since my nails are narrow. But, let’s go ahead and look at this stunning beauty!

I’m so glad I bought this beauty! Such a stunner!!

And, I’m So Sari for making you want to open your wallet and buy this baby! 😉

Layla Hologram Effects Gold Idol, Misty Blush, and Red Taboo

I’m so thrilled to share these with you today! These were the first Laylas I’ve ever tried, and let me tell you it will not be the last time! These definitely did not disappoint. Unfortunately, when I swatched these, there was very little sunlight, and it’s been that way off and on, but the holographic effect STILL shone through, so you can know for sure that these are definitely something!!

The first one I have for you is Gold Idol. Now this one does shine like one! I took a photo indoors (and I usually always take pictures in the sunlight, but since there was none, and this one showed it’s TRUE colors indoors, I thought, “Why not?”) So here it is. 3 coats of Gold Idol shown below.

Misty Blush was my favorite. This one is a purple with taupe-pink undertones, and quite lovely! Its hologram effect was definitely my favorite of the 3. I mean, WOW. Look at that! This was 3 coats of Misty Blush.

Red Taboo is a stunning red holographic polish. The pinks and blues within shone and looked fabulous. Gorgeous, isn’t it? This is 3 coats of Red Taboo.

Now, all in all, the formula of these hologram effects was superb. They were a little on the thin side, but they still had quite the effect! I would LOVE to try some of the other colors in the hologram effects collection. There are other Laylas I’d love to try. Which ones are your favorite?
